Summary:

• He was born into a rich, noble, wealthy family, inheriting great presitge and honour.

• However, during his early elementary school years, Akoya was bullied relentlessly by his classmates, since his surname ‘Gero’ sounded like the Japanese onomatopoeia for a frog’s croak and especially because it literally means ‘to puke’

• He’s the treasurer of the student council at his school and a secret member of the Conquest club.

• The Conquest Club tends to examine from the shadows, and he’ll watch from the roof to observe his enemy, making plans. This happens through most of his appearances--every episode--when he isn’t drinking tea.

• He is usually the one responsible for physically closing the clubs for being too small. (Few members)

• The conquest club aims to achieve world domination, and destruction of all the ugly things in the world to create one of order and discipline; Akoya is in it for the beautification of this world.

• He has a rivalry with anyone who opposes his beauty as seen episode 3, where he tries to beat Ryuu Zaou and the rest of the school in a beauty contest.

• He hates noisy children/families, as seen when he was complaining about the families at the distant beach when he and his friends were at the private one during episode 7.

• He has a tendency to manipulate people into fights, rather than doing dirty work himself, seen when he tried to break the Earth Defense Club up by setting up examination requirements for them to pass, then guaranteeing their breakup by bribing Io Naruko to join the Student Council

• He’s rather sensitive towards positive and negative energies and pick them up easily. This is useful when he’s setting monsters on people. The conquest club does this by taking their darkness from their victim’s hearts and transforming them into monsters

• He is taken before the finale of the series, meaning he is still very much interested in taking over the world, but can’t be bothered to do it without his team and Lord Zundar.

• Prior this point, he still hasn’t done much but sit on rooftops, drink tea, and prove he’s gay as a rainbow. (No seriously, blushing when someone takes leaves out of his hair…)

• First impressions have a lasting effect, shown by Akoya expressing disgust over Yumoto when he addressed him, despite Yumoto being very formal (and out of character) before.

He has the appearance and nobility of an angel, and it certainly reflects in the way and manner in which he considers himself to be pure and virtuous, referring himself to as "The Holy Angel Akoya”. However, if he’s made fun of for his name or appearance, he tends to get fired up. Akoya is sharp, and can be sarcastic when he wants to be. He has an extreme tendency to look down on people who aren’t as wealthy or as clean as he is.

Akoya despises the sight of a thing that is not pretty in appearance, and worships anything considered beautiful, even women’s garments and long hair. He dresses androgynously and gracefully, and is more in touch with his feminine side than most of the others. Akoya is used to wealth, so he has extremely high standards, and exquisite tastes; he doesn’t find buying out a beach, and having private luxury hot springs are out of the ordinary. Limo rides and hairstylists that come to his aid during class are also things Akoya enjoys, and he additionally loves macrons and aromatherapy.

He enjoys a cup of tea and teasing/snarking at people, carrying a lot of confidence and pride to fuel his words. He’s so prideful in fact, he considers himself the most beautiful person to ever exist, which is a claim he could well run after. It's probably one of the few things that get him running at all, as he prefers orchestrating deals and events to make a show, rather than actually getting his hands dirty.

His manipulative side tends to be kept secret, but it forms a lot of his character. Even without conquest club powers, he is very good at ripping apart things he doesn’t like. Bribery and manipulating school rules enables him to ruin anything he finds distasteful, sometimes purely because of that fact. If he's made too upset however, he'll eventually resort to using his fists.

Despite his intelligence, cunning and pride, he can be persuaded easily by flattery and praise, noted by his own beauty being one of the few things he finds initiative in. Also, he seems unfamiliar with the idea that people can be nice for the sake of being nice.

Additionally, though he blushes madly around particularly handsome men, he'll deny it fiercely.

Akoya wears a conquest ring that ordinarily allows him to transform into ‘The Pearl Chevalier, Perlite’, and grants him the use of a rapier. However, he doesn’t have access to his main weapon, the Zundar Needle which allows him and his comrades to create monsters. This is because Lord Zundar (the alien porcupine) who approached his club earlier in the year, is not present with him. He’s got a mean punch though, and will strike if he believes his necessary, despite his claims on beauty.

Gem Considerations: Canonically he’s described as the Pearl Chevalier, so a Pearl is the best choice. Aside from this, Pearls were believed to be formed by the passage of angels through the clouds to heaven. They're also a strong symbol of purity, and beauty. Akoya's pearl specifically will be a 'Blister Pearl' (half spheres), and is located on his ring finger (left).

Power considerations:

Since he’s mostly human with durability, any cap is more of a gain. Less squishy and he can take a hit. However, gaining power would be a definite plus, and mastery of the sword can never go wrong. As for his other powers:

Weapon Materialization

Materialization of the rapier he carries as 'The Pearl Chevalier'; eventually it should be able to shoot light beams (see Light Projection.)

Light Projection

This is an ability that branches out; initially manifesting as beams of light shot from his rapier, it could extend into full replications of his actual self to make combat, reflecting Akoya's narcissim. They can only be effective while within his field of view however.

Plant Growth

His title literally brings blooming flowers, hence the plant growth. The ground must already be fertile enough to allow him to sprout plants, but he can grow them as large as he wants--he can't control anything else about them though.
